Nested In Nature
Spring 2025 Installation in Mission Creek Park, Olympia Washington. Art Baskets from Nested,

 a hand woven mixed media installation: wood, thread, textiles. Created for the Olympia Artspace Alliance Art In Storefronts Group show, "Community". 

 

“Nested” explores our connections to one another and, in turn, the environments we inhabit. The installation uses a number of both found and gifted materials, all collected over the years from local buy nothing groups and neighborhood walks. Willow and Red Alder are the primary structural woods, hand woven into basket nests, balanced together in a nest of their own. The nest is constructed from the same twigs and branches as the baskets.   Woven together, we rely on one another to thrive.
